Eliminating battery purchases will save you untold dollars over the course of the life of your XBOX 360 (short as it may be). Use the charge cord for an hour, get a day of wireless play!

This controller is fine for gaming. However, the d-pad is way too sensitive. It chooses items then moves to the next item when you let go. The plug in part is great and the rechargable battery is even better. I like that instead of swapping batteries in a middle of a game when the battery runs out that I could just plug it in and continue on. I think this was a good purchase.

Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit with Black Controller (2008-07-12)
I bought this bundle as a video game deal-of-the-day recently. I already had a white wireless controller and play & charge kit and I definitely enjoyed the freedom of wireless controllers. These kits are great because you don't have to keep buying new batteries or swapping rechargeable ones. I just play, and when I'm done I just plug them into my PC USB ports to charge, so I don't have to leave my 360 on. (These charge kits DO NOT WORK as PC controllers -- only for charging. Silly, eh?)

The deal of the day was for $45. An added benefit was that it was the black bundle, so the controller stands out amongst the many white ones that most people have. I have had no problems thus far and am glad I bought this bundle at the discounted price. I probably would not buy it at full price, though.
